About Paws A Little

Updated on

Paws A Little is an independent buying-guide site about wireless and GPS dog fences, the kind you set up without digging a wire into the ground.

We write for dog owners with a yard, a few acres or a lot that's hard to fence. Our goal is simple: help you find a fence that fits your land, your dogs and what you want to spend each month.

What we cover

Our guides cover radio fences that work around a base unit in your home and GPS collars that follow a boundary you draw in an app. We look at brands like PetSafe, Halo and Dogtra, along with newer names.

We also explain the parts that trip people up. That means signal range, yard shape, trees and hills, collar fit, batteries and whether a fence needs a paid plan.

How we work

We read the specs, the setup steps and the maker's own information for every fence we cover. We also look at what owners often report after living with one.

Then we turn it into plain guides, side-by-side comparisons and clear picks. Our How we research page explains the steps.

What we are not

We don't make or sell dog fences, and no brand pays us to rank its products. Paws A Little isn't affiliated with PetSafe, Halo, Dogtra, Invisible Fence or any other maker.

We don't claim to have tested every fence on dogs of our own. When we pick something, we say why, based on its specs, its features and owner feedback.

We aren't vets or dog trainers, and we don't give training advice. A wireless or GPS fence is not a physical barrier, so talk to your vet or a trainer about whether one suits your dog.

How the site is paid for

Some links here go to stores like Amazon. If you buy through one, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.

That never decides which fences we pick. Our affiliate disclosure has the details.
